influence: punk culture

No matter how often designers, stylists, and photographers draw on classic punk themes in producing their work, there's always a new way to consider and incorporate the aesthetic. Consider some of our favorite shots as we move into fall, and think about your potential spin.

leigh ellexson photography: young forever

If you are using Flickr, you might know of Leigh Ellexson. With dreamy overlays, and some very chic portraits of both her friends and herself, she might lure you in. We love the fresh feeling of experimentation, whimsy, and teenage restlessness.

Photography by James Whitmore

James Whitmore is a young photographer out of Sweden who manages to capture grittiness and beauty all in one. Sure to be in the company of the likes of Juergen Teller, who is known for photographing atypically beautiful women, Whitmore extracts sensuality, memorability, and major attitude from each of his subjects.

asher levine x slava mogutin

What do you get when you take two brilliant artists and put them together? Genius. These photos are the work of the ever talented Slava Mogutin. And of course there is no more interesting a subject than someone wearing Asher Levine. The images were taken at Levine's studio space in celebration of his recent installation at Popsouk.

my enemy and a haute mess

We are very excited about the Bag' o Bones Cuff in Colored Enamel, our newest piece from My Enemy by Chris Habana.  This accessory was prominently worn during the notorious "Haute Mess" by Steven Meisel (video and images above) for the March 2012 issue of Vogue Italia, which caused a major stir in the news media. The video features over the top looks with pieces from both Chris Habana and UNIF. Also newly back in stock is the amazing neon floral Funeral Cuff, seen below in Zink. These move fast so grab yours now!

photos from an evening with genesis

If you were unable to come out last Thursday because you were far across the world or caught under a large rock, we must admit you sadly missed out. The collaborative event celebrating Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, brought together a wonderful litany of artists, fashion enthusiasts, and bon vivants. With Gen's work provided by Invisible Exports Gallery, a more than healthy amount of Palm Beer and Perrier, and the wonderful environment of the Salvor Projects space, Gen and Edley's tunes had everyone more than hyped. It was a great night of gifts and new friends, and a fabulous time was surely had by all. Here are a few quick snaps of the event.
