DUST MAGAZINE

DUST Magazine has strong post-apocalyptic undertones and an undeniable inclination towards an aesthetic that might be called "urban slum punk meets blue collar wasteland." The images have a candid and real quality that obscures the divide usually separating the realms of fashion and of art. DUST seeks to merge art and fashion in a way that pushes fashion "much closer to an artistic point of view" and judging by their latest issue they are undoubtably succeeding. CONNECTING the DOTS: TAUBA AUERBACH

Tauba Auerbach's exploration of language through contemporary technologies is reflected in her pixelated prints and gradated color palette. Her fascination with craft lies within her process of combining old and new technologies to create tantalizing images. We here at IDLM couldn't resist drawing connections between Auerbach's prints and pieces from the shop - see if you can guess which is which.
