moonspoon saloon

a new designer arriving at idlm for spring is moonspoon saloon. the denmark based line is at the forefront of the edgy designs shown at copenhagen fashion week. collections are staged in performances that have included ballet and roller skating, and the designers also put out experimental film and art. with a limited u.s. distribution, the pieces are definitely worth looking forward to as a spring statement.

endovanera s/s '11

endovanera recently did a shoot featuring their designs for the upcoming season. idlm will be receiving a number of these styles in the coming months, so you can already start planning to acquire some imaginative new pieces.

metropolis

we've just discovered this short by pierre debusschere, which premiered last summer. featuring the designs of juan hernandez daels, its organic yet avant garde presence gives it a different look and feel than most videotorials we've been seeing lately. all in all, it definitely still feels current.

gareth pugh s/s 2011

the industry has been fervently debating gareth pugh's risky decision to replace his paris show with a video ever since it's original screening. whatever impact this method of presentation will have on future seasons is uncertain, but his experiment is visually striking nonetheless. idlm favorite kristen mcmenamy takes the screen alongside a shifting landscape of pugh's signature geometric prints and visuals. definitely a must see.

the watch

idlm resident designer timo weiland has just released a spring collection video, and it's a stunner. combining the upcoming season's pieces with the styling of vanessa packer and the choreography of ryan mcnamara, the stop motion short highlights new styles while retaining a fascinating integrity all its own. the fact that previously featured artist black moth super rainbow provides the background track makes it all the more watchable. check out the full experience here.

kenneth anger for missoni fall 2010

groundbreaking and storied filmmaker kenneth anger was recruited for missoni's fall campaign video - certainly a surprise to us. he's done a great job of merging his signature trippy and surreal aesthetic with missoni's frenetic pieces. not bad for an 83 year old.
