re:construction

the endless construction projects in manhattan are endlessly inconvenient, but the downtown alliance has been taking advantage of the chaos to sponsor public art. you may have already noticed some of the pieces in the continuing re:construction series, which at least puts an attractive face on the eyesores around downtown. as you can see here, some of the works are interesting enough to be visited for their own merit.
