The most promising men's fashion magazine of the season comes from an unexpected place: the Mediterrannean. Dapper Dan is based in Athens, Greece, and bills its subject matter as "men's fashion and philosophy." Their first issue hit newsstands recently, making for an impressive debut. Featuring an all black-and-white layout, the Spring/Summer '10 edition demonstrated the staff's efforts to break free from the conventions of typical men's magazines. They drew in some well-renowned names in the process, with interviews featuring adored designer Damir Doma, Lanvin's Lucas Ossendrijver, and Marc Jacobs/Vivienne Westwood photog veteran Juergen Teller. With their amazing subject lineup, images, and aesthetics, we can definitely agree that Dapper Dan's vision has helped it raise the bar for its competition.
